| Meine jüngste Schwester Sophie bat mich um ein Quilt. Es müßte die Geschichte unserer Familie sein. Symbolen für die 3 Ländern, wo wir leben, Symbolen für jeden von uns. | Ma plus jeune soeur Sophie voulait un quilt. Ce devait être un quilt qui retrace symboliquement notre famille, les 3 pays où nous vivons, et un symbole pour chacun d´entre nous. | My youngest sister Sophie wanted a quilt. It had to be a quilt which was telling about our family. The 3 countries we are living in and a symbol for each of us. | ||
| In 97 fing Sophie ihre Stoffe zu kaufen: in den USA, in Frankreich und auch in Mai 98 in Deutschland. | En 1997 Sophie commença à acheter ses tissus, aux USA, en France et en Mai 98 en Allemagne. | In 1997 Sophie started buying fabrics, in the USA, in France and also at least in Germany (May 98). | ||
| Bleistifte und Papier gehörten zu der Vergangenheit, ich hatte Feb. 98 EQ3 bestellt. | Crayons et papiers appartenaient au passé, j´avais commandé EQ3 en fév. 98 | Pencils and paper were belonging to the past, I ordered EQ3 in feb. 98. | ||
| Ich vorbereitete alle Zeichnungen in EQ3 nach Sophies´Ideen, wir suchten beide, sie in Frankreich, ich in Deutschland. | Je préparais tous les dessins sur EQ3, d´après les idées de Sophie, nous cherchions toutes les deux, elle en France, moi en Allemagne. | I did all the drawings on EQ3 and followed Sophie´s ideas. We were both working, Sophie in France, I in Germany. | ||
| In Mai 98 fing ich an zu nähen, die Blocks wurden nach Frankreich verschickt. Sophie urteilte und einige Blocks wurden einmal, zweimal genäht. | En mai 98 je commençais à coudre, les blocks furent rassemblés puis envoyés en France. Sophie fit refaire certains blocks, une fois ... deux fois. | In may 98 I started to sew and collected the blocks that were sent in France. Sophie told me to sew some of them, one time, two times.... |
| Im Nov. 98 war endlich in der Lage den Top während ein regionales Treffen der Deutschen Gilde zu zeigen. Der Sandwich war geheftet. | En Nov. 1998 je pus montrer ce quilt pour la première fois lors d´une réunion régionale de la Gilde Allemande. Le sandwich était fait. | In Nov. 98 I was able to show the quilt for the first time at a regional meeting of the German Gild. The sandwich was already done. | ||

| Zwischen Weihnachten und Silvester 98 war der Quilt fertig. Das Quilten geschah in den Nähten um das bildliche Charakter des Quiltes zu bewahren. | Entre Noel et la St. Sylvestre 98 le quiltage fut terminé. Tout le quiltage eut lieu dans les coutures, pour ne rien enlever au caractère pictural de ce quilt. | Between Christmas and the 31th.12.98 the quilting was finished. I quilted in-the-ditch to keep the pictural aspect of this quilt. | ||
| 1.1.99 Sophie wartete auf mich am Flughafen, eine Stunde später ich gab ihr voller Stolz IHR Quilt. | 1.1.99 Sophie m´attendait à l´aéroport de Roissy, et une heure après mon arrivée, je lui remettais SON quilt. | 1st.1.99: Sophie waited for me at the pariser airport, and one hour later I was proud to give her HER quilt. | ||
| Seitdem hängt der Quilt in Sophies´Wohnung und erzählt ihr jeden Tag unsere "Familien Geschichten" | Actuellement ce quilt pend chez elle, et lui raconte tous les jours : nos "Histoires de Famille". | This quilt is hanging in Sophie´s home on a wall telling her every day our "Family´s Stories". | ||
| Sophie hat viele Ideen, viele anderen Ideen, aber ich kann sie noch nicht preisgeben.. | Sophie a d´autres idées, beaucoup d´idées, mais je ne peux encore les révéler. | Sophie has more ideas, a lot of ideas, but I can not tell more about them. | ||
